The site is utterly unique in every way. On our initial site visit, the heavens opened and the sea crashed against the rugged calcite, slate and lime cliffs. Defined fault lines of iron ore cut directly from the beach, up through the site. On our second visit, there was not a cloud in the sky, and the sun lit up the vivid colours of orange, yellow and gold pigmented landscape.
Early concepts draw directly from these fault lines, the Ochre pigmented stone, the balance of soft round, sea-worn, washed stones and the angular shards of slate.
Honesty, integrity and innovation will play a continuous role in the design evolution and realisation.
The site is sloped, giving opportunity for living spaces to be staggered with split levels that playfully offer glimpses of the breath-taking views across the sea.
