Whilst working for Penarth Architects firm Loyn & Co. Glen was the lead designer for this RIBA Stirling prize nominee house for 2 Artists. Sitting, buried into the slope of the land, overlooking the Wye Valley in the Forest Of Dean, this concrete ECO house has won multiple house design awards.
The low lying sustainable dwelling, sits on a sloping field overlooking the river Wye. My key goal was to minimise any visual as well as environmental impact on the surroundings. To achieve this, in part, the structure was ‘buried’, with the North field wrapping onto the flat roof, with exterior courtyard punctuating the fabric, from inside the spaces.
